Unlocking Your Child's Potential
Values and Expectations
  • Parents have become increasingly engaged in the life of the school and our highly committed Parent Voice Team meets every half term, actively supporting new initiatives and school improvement. We insist upon full support from parents in endorsing our behaviour policy. This includes a commitment to same day detentions and ensuring their child meets our strict uniform policy

  • We expect outstanding attitudes towards learning from our children and excellent behaviour directly linked to our five core values

  • We offer a family 10-18 education, with formal admissions in Years 6, 9 and the Sixth Form. We pride ourselves on the quality of our support for all our children

  • We take special care of all new children, to ensure they have the smoothest possible transition to our school

  • Our relationship with our First and Middle Schools and The Vale is very good and we pride ourselves in the support we provide across numerous activities such as supporting Sports Days and providing enrichment opportunities

  • Our annual Remembrance Service shared with St Richard’s COE School, parents and the local community, is symbolic of our shared understanding of the importance in recognising the sacrifices made by others in securing the freedoms we enjoy

  • We believe that lifetime success is determined by effort and teamwork and leadership skills. Our children develop these skills, their self-confidence and their resilience so they fully understand the importance of always trying their best

  • We are resolute in our determination to provide the outstanding education our young people deserve and ensure that every child fulfils their potential both personally and academically

  • Our children are extremely proud of their school, and work alongside incredibly committed and caring staff who “go beyond the call” and who are determined to unlock your child’s potential

  • Sixth Formers have access to the qualifications and opportunities to develop the skills to be successful at top universities, apprenticeships and to be ready for work and adult life. With their own common room and private study areas, they undertake enrichment activities supporting younger children with their learning

  • Our children enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular activities and our first class facilities include a gym, a full size astro turf and superb performing arts facilities, also benefitting our local community

  • Governors actively support the school, through attendance at all key school events and links with key areas of school improvement and we welcome expressions of interest from parents

  • Our community has recognised our successes, but we are not complacent and are always looking to improve

  • Everyone must champion and constructively challenge us to help us to be the very best we can

  • We believe in an "open door" policy, so parents please do come and see us in action!>
